Get peace of mind from an independant stage or handover inspection, from the first slab to the final handover, so you can move into your new home knowing it’s been built right.
We provide detailed, independent stage & handover inspections across Hobart & the wider Tasmanian region. You will receive a comprehensive report at each major stage, which includes detailed information & photos of any potential issues identified.
This helps you resolve problems before it’s too late, giving you the confidence that your new home is being built to the quality you expect.
Stage and handover inspections are essential quality checks carried out during the construction process to make sure your home is being built to a high standard at every step.
Unlike pre-purchase building inspections (which assess existing homes), stage inspections happen throughout the build. These checks help identify potential issues early, before they become costly or difficult to fix.
This package involves a full practical completion inspection of the property conducted in accordance with relevant Australian Standards. Defects will be identified based on the Guide to Standards and Tolerances 2017, relevant Australian Standards, and National Construction Code criteria where applicable.
The inspection will identify visible defects and workmanship issues. The report will include photographic evidence and brief descriptions of each defect observed. This option is designed for clients who want a clear defect list they can present to their builder.
*Based on a standard 3-4 bedroom home. Subject to house size.
This package includes everything in Package One. In addition, the report will include more detailed written explanations of why each identified item is considered a defect.
Where relevant, the report will reference the applicable Guide to Standards and Tolerances, Australian Standards, and NCC provisions that support the defect classification. This option is intended for clients who want stronger documentation to assist with discussions or negotiations with their builder.
*Based on a standard 3-4 bedroom home. Subject to house size.
This package includes everything provided in Packages One and Two, along with additional diagnostic testing.
Additional inclusions are thermal imaging and the option for flood testing of shower areas. Thermal imaging can assist in identifying issues such as irregular tile adhesive coverage, insulation deficiencies within wall cavities, and other anomalies that are not visible through a standard visual inspection.
Flood testing of shower areas can be undertaken where appropriate to help identify potential waterproofing concerns prior to handover.
*Based on a standard 3-4 bedroom home. Subject to house size.
When your builder tells you the project is complete, that doesn’t always mean it’s flawless. A handover or quality control inspection protects you by:
Whether you’re building your dream home or moving into a new development, our inspection gives you peace of mind and helps avoid costly surprises after settlement.
A handover inspection is essential before finalising a property build. It’s your opportunity to uncover issues and gain a greater peace of mind. Our clients choose this service to:
This inspection could save you thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs and from unwanted disputes regarding issues with the home later on.
Stage building inspections verify that the work at each phase of construction complies with local building codes and safety regulations, ensuring the project progresses smoothly without skipping essential steps.
During a handover inspection, check the quality of finishes, functionality of all systems (like plumbing and electrical), compliance with the building plans, and any potential defects that need to be addressed.
If issues are found during a stage inspection, they must be addressed and corrected before moving on to the next stage of construction to maintain compliance and safety standards.
Most inspections take between 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the size, age, and condition of the property. Larger homes or those with complex features may take longer. Our goal is to thoroughly assess the property without rushing the process. You will receive your detailed report within 24 hours after the inspection.
